Dr Godwin Stanley Okoye

MD, PhD

Ideal Image Plus, PLC is a physician-led Centre for Integrative and Regenerative Medicine dedicated to wellness, healing, healthy aging, longevity, and whole-person care—helping individuals remain healthier, stronger, and more active as they grow older.

The Center was founded by Godwin Stanley Okoye, MD, PhD, a physician–neuroscientist with decades of multidisciplinary training spanning medicine, ophthalmology, neuroscience, developmental neuropharmacology, and pharmacy.

Dr. Okoye earned his combined MD, PhD degrees from UMDNJ–Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in Piscataway, New Jersey, USA. He completed specialty training in ophthalmology at Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC, and subsequently undertook advanced post-doctoral fellowship training at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Dr. Okoye has conducted extensive research in central nervous system (CNS) neuro-regeneration and integrative, science-informed biological approaches to neurodegenerative and age-related functional decline. His scientific work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Medicine, The Journal of Neuroscience, Experimental Neurology, Journal of Comparative Neurology, Gene Therapy, and The FASEB Journal.

He is widely recognized for pioneering contributions to neural and genetically engineered embryonic cell transplantation research in CNS disorders, including retinal degeneration. His work has advanced translational understanding of neural cell survival, functional integration into host tissue, and regenerative signaling pathways relevant to nervous system repair.

In many tissues, stem cells serve as a sort of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as a person lives.”

Inspired by this scientific framework, Ideal Image Plus, PLC applies evidence-informed, ethically grounded, and patient-centered models of care designed to support functional optimization, biological resilience, and quality of life, while operating within the scope of licensed medical practice in Nigeria.
